In short: In March 2026, Honda stopped its plans for the 0 Saloon and the 0 SUV. Both EVs were to be built in the US and open the new 0 Series. The Acura RSX was cancelled too. The compact 0 α stays on the roadmap but launches in 2027 in Japan and India first. There is no announcement for Europe. In Germany, Honda currently has no new fully electric car on sale.
What Honda decided
On 12 March 2026, Honda announced that it would end development and the planned launch of the 0 SUV, 0 Saloon and Acura RSX, all planned for North American production. Honda cited weaker EV demand in the US, policy changes and strong price pressure. It expects losses of up to ¥2.5 trillion related to the change. According to Autocar India, the two models were the first of seven 0 Series models planned by 2030.
Focus on hybrids
Honda will focus on hybrids, with the US, Japan and India as core markets. A next-generation hybrid system is due from 2027.
The 0 α
Shown at the Japan Mobility Show in October 2025, the 0 α is a compact SUV and the gateway model of the 0 Series. It will be built at the Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, India, and launch in FY2026-27, first in India and Japan. Honda has not announced Europe. Battery size, range and price are not official; figures online are rumours.
Honda EVs in Germany
The e:Ny1 can no longer be configured in Germany since April 2026; only stock cars remain. Only 105 were registered in Germany in 2025. The Super-ONE small EV (274 km WLTC, up to 70 kW in Boost mode) is on sale in Japan and will come to the UK as Super-N. Germany is not confirmed.
