In short: In 2026, Toyota offers four EVs in Germany: the Urban Cruiser from €29,990, the C-HR+ from €38,990, the updated bZ4X from €39,990 and the new bZ4X Touring from €49,990. The C-HR+ has the longest range at up to 607 km WLTP. Until the end of 2026, Toyota offers an EV bonus of up to €13,600, including state funding. Solid-state batteries are targeted for 2027/28, but that timeline is not guaranteed.

EV or hybrid?
Toyota still sells mostly hybrids in Europe. If you can charge at home or at work, an EV is usually cheaper to run than a hybrid. Without your own charging point, public charging is more expensive and slower, so a full hybrid may be the easier choice. With ranges of 500–600 km and about 30-minute fast charging, Toyota's new EVs also handle long trips well.
Solid-state batteries
Toyota targets first practical use in EVs for 2027/28. Partner Idemitsu is building a solid electrolyte pilot plant in Chiba, due in 2027, and Sumitomo Metal Mining plans cathode mass production from FY2028. Toyota has moved such timelines before, and first cars will likely be expensive low-volume models, so buyers should not wait for them.
