Why it is so efficient
- A drag coefficient of 0.24, the best in Audi's compact segment.
- Aero wheels and gap reducers around the wheel arches.
- Efficient permanent-magnet motors with silicon-carbide power electronics.
- Low-friction gearbox with polished gears and low-viscosity oil.
Key terms
- Drag coefficient (cd): lower means less energy needed at speed.
- Cell-to-pack: cells sit directly in the battery housing without modules.
- V2L / V2H: the car can power devices or, via a compatible DC wallbox in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, a home.
Interior
Standard equipment includes an 11.9-inch digital cockpit, a 12.8-inch curved touchscreen, emergency braking, evasive steering assist, adaptive cruise control and a rear-view camera. The boot holds 396 to 1,336 litres. A magnetic Fidlock mounting system and a dual 25 W wireless phone charger are also included.
Production
The A2 e-tron is built in Ingolstadt alongside the Audi A3. Audi says it reached the road 21 months faster than comparable predecessors, reusing more than 1,200 existing production components, including around 250 robots. Depending on specification, more than 300 parts contain recycled material.
Buying advice
The 140 kW version with 61 kWh is the efficiency sweet spot; the 170 kW version offers the longest range. Independent tests will follow after the December launch. A cheaper Group alternative is the VW ID. Polo. See also our autumn 2026 EV overview and the Audi section.
