In short: Autumn 2026 brings many new security cameras. Ring launches five models, including three outdoor cameras with Retinal 4K from €149.99. eufy offers dual cameras with radar and local storage, such as the eufyCam E52 for €299. Reolink adds the Home Hub 2, a local AI hub for about €160. Shelly enters the market with a €40 indoor camera. Storage, subscription costs and privacy matter most when buying.
Ring
Announced on 7 October 2026 and available for pre-order: Outdoor Camera 4K Plus (€149.99, five power options including PoE+), Spotlight Camera 4K Plus (€199.99, 550 lumens), Floodlight Camera 4K Plus (€219.99, 2,000 lumens), Indoor Camera 4K (€99.99, physical privacy cover) and Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera 2K (€69.99). Video storage usually requires a Ring subscription.
eufy
From November: eufyCam E52 (€299, 2K wide plus 4K tracking camera, radar, solar, microSD up to 512 GB), SoloCam E50 (€249), TrackLight Cam S1 (€299, light follows people, 105 dB siren), Video Doorbell S4 (€329) and the NVR Security System E50 (about €1,000, 2 TB, up to 16 channels). Basic features work without a subscription.
Reolink, Shelly and Bosch
Reolink's Home Hub 2 (about €160) stores video locally; a free Custom AI Detection feature that recognises object states is due from December at the earliest. Shelly's first camera costs €40 and records in Full HD. Bosch charges €3 per month for Eyes+ face recognition.
| Model | Resolution | Storage | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ring Outdoor 4K Plus | 4K | cloud (subscription) | €149.99 |
| eufyCam E52 | 2K + 4K | local | €299 |
| Reolink Home Hub 2 | – | local | ~€160 |
| Shelly Camera | Full HD | local/cloud | €40 |
Which camera for whom?
For a rented flat on a small budget, an indoor camera like the Shelly Camera or the Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera 2K is enough. For a house with a driveway, a floodlight camera such as the Ring Floodlight Camera 4K Plus or the eufy TrackLight Cam S1 lights up large areas. If you want no subscription, eufy and Reolink store video locally. For large properties with many cameras, a recorder system like the eufy NVR E50 or Reolink with Home Hub 2 records around the clock.
Buying tips
Local storage is cheaper and more private; cloud storage protects against theft. Calculate subscriptions over three to five years. In Germany, you may only film your own property, so use privacy zones. Enable two-factor login and keep firmware updated. Matter camera support is still limited to SmartThings, see our smart home overview. More in the Security Cameras section.
