In short: The key robot vacuum trend after IFA 2026 is the roller mop. Instead of two spinning pads, flagship models use a roller that is constantly rinsed with fresh water. Dreame goes further with the Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete, which generates steam inside the robot. Its list price is €1,499. Roborock answers with the Saros 20 Flow Complete (36,000 Pa) and the cheaper Qrevo Edge 2 FlowX. For most homes, a much cheaper model is enough.
Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete
Dreame's first robot that makes steam onboard: up to 180 °C at the generator outlet, released through four nozzles ahead of the roller. It offers 40,000 Pa suction, a 300 rpm roller with 18 N pressure and a roller that extends about 8 cm for edges. It went on sale in Germany and Spain on 21 September 2026 at an introductory €1,199; the regular price is €1,499.
Roborock Saros 20 Flow Complete and siblings
The Saros 20 Flow Complete has 36,000 Pa, the SpiraFlow 2.0 roller (240 rpm, 15 N, 16 water outlets), a retractable LiDAR for a height of about 9 cm, 8.8 cm threshold climbing and up to 301 minutes of runtime. The Qrevo Edge 2 FlowX (35,000 Pa) launched in Switzerland at CHF 699, the 7.95 cm Saros 20 Neo at CHF 1,099. Check German prices with retailers.

What really matters
Roller mops give more even results than pads but cost more. For hard floors, 8,000 to 10,000 Pa is enough. Obstacle avoidance, a good dock, height, threshold climbing and spare part prices matter more. Keep camera images local and put smart home devices on a separate Wi-Fi network. Matter supports robot vacuums since version 1.2, see our smart home overview.
Who should buy what?
Homes with lots of hard floor and pets benefit from a roller mop and strong obstacle avoidance. Small flats on a budget can choose a simpler model for a few hundred euros. Old buildings with high thresholds need good climbing ability. More in the Robot Vacuums section.
